1. Where can I purchase The Nightmare Before Christmas TCG?
The game is available at local game and hobby shops, as well as specialty chain stores such as Suncoast Video and Hot Topic.
2. How can my local store order the game?
Your store can ask their distributors if they are carrying the game and order it directly from them. Otherwise, your store can order wholesale product directly from NECA by contacting sales@necaonline.com.
3. What if I can't find the game in my area? Can I order it directly from NECA?
Yes, you can order Starter Decks and Booster Packs online through NECA's official Exclusives Club.
4. What is the breakdown of the cards for the Premiere Set of The Nightmare Before Christmas TCG?
The Premiere Set includes 153 cards: 50 Common Cards, 50 Uncommon Cards, 38 Rare Cards, 12 Ultra-Rare Foil Cards, 2 Fixed Cards (Starter Decks only), and 1 Promo Card.
5. How many Starter Decks are there? What do they contain?
There are 4 different Starter Decks, each one devoted to a different Character from the film (Jack, Oogie, The Mayor, and Dr. Finklestein). Each Starter Deck includes 48 cards. These cards include a non-random assortment of 46 Common and Uncommon Cards (which can also be found in Booster Packs), as well as 2 Fixed Cards (Pumpkin Points and Pumpkin King) which are only included in Starter Decks. Each deck is carefully arranged to give beginning players a chance to learn the game with a balanced, playtested deck. Each Starter Deck also includes a Rulebook which outlines the full rules needed to play the game.
6. How many cards are included in each Booster Pack? How are they randomized?
There are 12 cards in each Booster Pack (8 Common, 3 Uncommon, and 1 Rare). Some Booster Packs (about 1 in 9) also contain an Ultra-Rare Foil in place of a Common card.
7. How can I obtain the promo card?
The Premiere Set's promo card (entitled Nightmare Before Christmas) is being given out for free at conventions promoting the game. The promo card was also released in the October 2005 issue of Scrye Magazine.
8. Will there be expansions for The Nightmare Before Christmas TCG?
Yes, the first expansion set, Christmas Town, is being released on May 10, 2006. That will be followed by a stand-alone expansion in Summer 2006 entitled The Real World. For more details, please visit our special 2006 Expansion Schedule page.
9. What is the breakdown of the cards for the Christmas Town Expansion?
The Christmas Town Expansion includes 132 cards: 46 Common Cards (including 2 Rules Cards), 40 Uncommon Cards, 40 Rare Cards, and 6 Ultra-Rare Foil Cards.
10. How many cards are in the Tournament Kit?
There are 8 cards in the Tournament Kit, including three Foil Cards (Lock, Shock, and Barrel).
